In the 19th century, billboards gradually became symbols of a city’s dynamism. Today, our collective awareness of built heritage and the urban landscape is giving rise to new issues. While some outdoor advertising icons are integral to the Montreal identity, certain practices are clear contributors to visual pollution. Can billboard and landscape truly coexist in harmony?
