An invention of the industrial age, municipal parks are basic components in neighbourhood urban planning. But citizens are looking beyond the aesthetic and public health role of parks. They are creating new types of spaces by reappropriating wastelands, laneways and shorelines. What is the future of Montreal parks? And who will be the real architects?
