Special Indigenous cultures programming in August

Program

During the month of August, the McCord Museum is hosting the installation The World That Surrounds You Wants Your Death by Jason Edward Lewis (Cherokee, Hawaiian, Samoan), in collaboration with the Contemporary Native Art Biennial (BACA). An interactive digital work that allows us to question, among other things, the way we communicate with each other.

In addition, on the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People on August 9, the Museum opens its doors to visit the exhibition Wearing our Identity – The First Peoples Collection free of charge throughout the day. Participatory visits of 30 minutes with our mediators will also be offered free of charge to groups of 2 to 6 people upon reservation.
