Renovated facilities for group activities at the McCord Stewart Museum
Montreal, January 9, 2025. – The McCord Stewart Museum is pleased to unveil its brand-new education space, featuring three bright and welcoming multipurpose rooms. Made possible by the generous support of the Rossy Foundation and designed by Montreal firm KANVA, these facilities embody the Museum’s values of openness and inclusion. They host daily activities that encourage connection, dialogue, transmission and co-creation. Since the opening of the Rossy Foundation Learning Centre, groups of all ages and backgrounds have enjoyed a warm learning environment that enriches their museum experience.
Spaces adapted to the needs of the Museum’s visitors
Reflecting the Museum’s commitment to the well-being of its visitors and staff, the facilities include:
- A circular room for discussion workshops
- A multipurpose room with a modular layout
- A rest and nursing area

These rooms are also available to rent.
Key facts 2023-2024
- More than 25,500 people took part in group tours and workshops in 2023-2024, including students from preschool to university and French learners.
- In 2023-2024, the Museum welcomed 1,475 members of Indigenous communities for group tours.
- In addition to the Rossy Foundation’s major contribution to the refurbishment, we would like to highlight the support of the Macdonald Stewart Foundation and Solotech.
