Access
The Museum is located in downtown Montreal, across from McGill University. It is accessible via McGill metro station (on the green line) or bus 24 on Sherbrooke Street. While there is no visitor parking at the Museum, there are parking meters and commercial parking lots close by.
Please note that for security reasons and a lack of adequate space the Museum does not offer luggage or suitcase storage.
Directions to the Museum
- Visitors with reduced mobility, groups, families
Enter the Museum via the Group Entrance: 2175, Victoria Street (West side of the Museum)
Wheelchair available for visitors with reduced mobility. No reservation. Limited quantity. More information at the Museum Admission desk. - Metro: McGill station (green line)
- Bus: 24 Sherbrooke
- Bike: bike parking is available on Victoria Street
- Car: for those arriving by automobile, there are a number of routes into the city
→ If you are coming from the south or east, cross the St. Lawrence River via the Champlain Bridge. Signs at the exit from the bridge indicate the way to Centre Ville (Downtown). This route brings you right on to Robert-Bourrassa Boulevard. Turn left on Sherbrooke Street West. The Museum will be on your left.
→ If you are approaching Montreal from the west along TransCanada Highway 40 or Highway 20, you should follow the signs saying Centre Ville (Downtown). These will lead you on to the Autoroute Ville Marie. Almost immediately, signs will indicate right hand exits; take the Rue Guy exit bringing you directly on to St-Marc, which runs north to Sherbrooke Street. Turn right on to Sherbrooke, and in less than a mile you will come to the McCord Museum (at the corner of Victoria Street). - Paid commercial parking lots around the Museum:
2001 Robert-Bourassa Boulevard (entry via President-Kennedy Avenue)
2020 Robert-Bourassa Boulevard (entry via President-Kennedy Avenue – Closed on weekends)
1981 McGill College (entry via President-Kennedy Avenue and/or Victoria Street)
