Creative Workshop: Collective Wishing Tree with Artist Karen Tam
Free Activity | In the Urban Forest
Take part in a workshop inspired by Karen Tam’s Wishing Tree. Follow the artistic guidance and social insight of the multi-disciplinary artist behind the exhibition Swallowing Mountains and adorn the Urban Forest installation with your own creation!
As part of its Artist-in-Residence program, the McCord Stewart Museum is pleased to welcome artist Karen Tam, who explores ways of building and representing Chinese cultural identity through installation, sculpture, textile and drawing. While studying the Museum’s collections and deeply involved in archival research, Karen Tam came to wonder about the stories that are collected and told, and about the narratives that have been built around the Chinese diaspora.
