Screening of Drift

Free Activity | Space is limited, Reservation required

The Museum, in collaboration with the Massimadi Festival, invites you to a screening of Anthony Chen’s Drift. This activity is presented alongside the exhibition To All the Unnamed Women by artist Michaëlle Sergile.

Drift

On the paradisal beaches of a Greek island, no one notices Jacqueline (Cynthia Erivo), a young refugee. No one except Callie (Alia Shawkat), an American tour guide. Their budding friendship has the potential to heal Jacqueline’s buried trauma and empower her to confront the ghosts of her past.

By Anthony Chen, France, UK and Greece, 2023, 93 minutes. Original version in English and Greek.

About Massimadi

The Massimadi Foundation is committed to making Montreal and Quebec’s artistic landscape more inclusive. Its mission is to perpetuate, disseminate and produce works and cultural knowledge from LGBTQ+ and Afro-descendant artists. The Foundation accomplishes this mission through a variety of projects, chief among them the annual Massimadi Festival of LGBTQ+ Afro arts and film, the only festival in Quebec to devote its entire programming to the imaginary worlds of Black queer culture in Canada and abroad.
