Stagnation: Abandoned Heritage Buildings
Since the first edition of City Talks 10 years ago, many heritage buildings and sites in the city have been abandoned and are awaiting a new use. Whether they are modest or large-scale, these rehabilitation projects and their financing are complex and subject to lengthening delays, putting the survival of the buildings at risk.
How can these heritage buildings be given a role in community life? What are the obstacles, and how can they be overcome?
Speakers
- Edith Cyr, Executive Director, Bâtir son quartier
- Clément Demers, Architect and Urban planner, project development and management consultant
- Francis T. Durocher, Architect and Director, project development, Entremise
