Emerging out of the optimism of the post-war period as an example of urban planning that prioritizes quality of life, our modern suburbs are getting on in years. Some have gained historical value. Many are reinventing themselves. Now that the fight against urban sprawl and climate change is underway, how can we recognize and adapt or densify suburbs while preserving their unique quality?
