Controversy surrounding political decisions to rename streets or parks in honour of deceased figures illustrates the sensitivity to certain memories in the collective landscape. What should be done to commemorate individuals or milestones with dignity and relevance? How do we recognize and enhance the city’s commemorative and toponymic heritage? And ultimately, who decides?
