Montreal’s Main Streets: Big Picture or Pixelated Urbanism?
City Talks
October 21, 2015
LECTURE PRESENTED ON OCTOBER 21, 2015
Emerging from the pathways and trails of the 17th and 18th centuries, the major roads that criss-cross Greater Montreal have defined the city’s development and transport. Notre-Dame, Sherbrooke, Saint-Laurent, Sainte-Catherine: the thoroughfares that once linked villages have today become segmented. Are these main streets approached from a big picture perspective? Is there a way for the region’s decision-makers to rally around a common vision?

- Dinu Bumbaru, Policy Director of Heritage Montreal

- Joël Thibert, Coordinator, Walk the Region
- Talia Dorsey, Founding Principal, The Commons Inc.
