Is concrete a necessary evil or an underappreciated heritage? Often singled out for criticism, concrete has been used to shape major features of our architectural heritage, from the Oratory dome to Habitat 67, not to mention a large portion of our infrastructure.
How well do we recognize this legacy and the special challenges of preserving it? What are our options for maintaining it or adapting it to the era of decarbonization and today’s construction needs?
