In spite of the city’s growing need for schools to address issues of urban development and quality of life, the number, condition and configuration of Montreal’s schools leave much to be desired. How can we deal with the major problems of overcrowded classrooms, regional inequalities and disrepair? What role can architecture and urban planning play?
