Museum Day Camp

Summer is for creating, exploring and having fun! What’s expected of the kids who register for the McCord Stewart Museum day camp? For them to be active, discover new things and, above all, have fun! The 2025 summer program encourages campers to explore different types of works and installations at the Museum.

Theme 1: Costume Stories

This summer, children will step into the colourful world of the extravagant costume balls and skating carnivals of yesteryear. Every day, they’ll encounter a historical or fictional character from the exhibition Costume Balls: Dressing Up History, 1870-1927 and will have fun dressing up, photographing themselves, dancing, and organizing the ball to which you are cordially invited.

Theme 2: Looking at My City

This summer, children will sharpen their observation skills and uncover an unexpected version of Montreal. Equipped with a camera and inspired by urban life and the photographs from the exhibition Pounding the Pavement: Montreal Street Photography, they’ll have fun exploring the city’s streets, making up alley games, and playing with images that are fascinating and surprising.
