A look back at the 2024 edition
The traditional Recognition Cocktail was held at the McCord Stewart Museum on June 20.
With the theme of costume balls, over a hundred guests met with our curatorial and conservation staff to get a sneak preview of some of the objects to be featured in our upcoming exhibition Costume Balls: Dressing up History, 1870-1927.
We were privileged to welcome as our guest of honour Mr. Jean-Claude Poitras, who spoke of the importance of disseminating fashion through our collections. Pierre Poirier, Senior officer of the McCord Museum Foundation, also shared with guests the touching words of Mrs. Marina Gusti, who last year pledged a planned gift to our institution to ensure its continuity for future generations.
For 15 years now, the McCord Museum Foundation has recognized the exceptional contributions and commitment of those who generously support the McCord Stewart Museum’s mission.
Through the generous support of individuals, private foundations and corporations, the McCord Stewart Museum has been able to facilitate the following initiatives:
- The preservation and promotion of its rich and internationally recognized collections
- Tell stories of Montreal, Quebec, and Canada through educational programs and exhibitions
- Support rigorous research and publication on the part of our highly trained curatorial teams
