First large cultural donation

An additional 25% tax credit*

As an individual resident of Quebec, take advantage of tax breaks for your first large cultural donation to the McCord Stewart Museum. When you donate at least $5,000 and up to $25,000, Revenu Québec offers an additional income tax credit of 25%, on top of the basic credits, under certain conditions. This represents a substantial donation for the Museum, which benefits from the support of thousands of people like you!

A gift is considered to be a large cultural donation if it meets all the following conditions:

• It is a monetary donation, the eligible amount of which is at least $5,000 but no more than $25,000.
• The 25% increase of the eligible amount applies only to a single large cultural donation made by an individual (other than a trust) after July 3, 2013.
• It was made to one of the following organizations:
  • a registered charity operating in Québec in the arts or culture sector,
  • a registered cultural or communications organization,
  • a registered museum

This table is based on revenues below $109,755. For higher revenues an additional tax allowance will be added to the provincial income tax credit. For revenues above $214,368, the tax allowance will extend to a federal tax credit.
