Suzanne Sauvage named an Officer of the Ordre national du Québec

Museum Announcements

Quebec Premier François Legault has announced 43 appointments to the Ordre national du Québec, including that of Suzanne Sauvage, President and Chief Executive Officer of the McCord Stewart Museum, who has been named an Officer.

This honour recognizes her exceptional career in the worlds of both communications and culture, a career driven by creativity, innovation and excellence. Having held executive positions at the firms of Burson-Marsteller and Cossette Canada before taking the reins of the Museum in 2010, she has spearheaded mergers with two other museums, making it a major player in Montreal’s cultural scene, increasing attendance and attracting a younger, more diverse public.

Outside of work, she has been involved in numerous local and national cultural organizations, including the Théâtre de Quat’Sous, the Orchestre Metropolitaine, the National Ballet of Canada, the Marie Chouinard dance company, O Vertigo and Concordia University.

The most prestigious honour awarded by the government, the Ordre national du Québec recognizes an individual’s outstanding contributions to Quebec society.

For information about the official appointment and the names of the other people being honoured this year, please see the Québec government press release (in French)

Recipients will be decorated at the 35th investiture ceremony of this illustrious organization, which will be held virtually on Tuesday, June 22, at 2:00 pm.
